As for the price I think my review was fair in stating what value we got for what I deemed to be a slightly higher price than others might charge.  I did not take any stars off for the price, and still am not, but I am taking another star off because of Alberto's comments, which are deceptive and not the same thing he told me in person.  Alberto, I suggest you stick with the high road in the future.
If you have an older central air conditioner, you might choose to replace the outdoor compressor with a modern, high-efficiency unit. If you do so, consult a local heating and cooling contractor to assure that the new compressor is properly matched to the indoor unit. However, considering recent changes in refrigerants and air conditioning designs, it might be wiser to replace the entire system.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that all technicians who open a system containing a controlled refrigerant be certified to do so. There are four levels of certification, one of which is a “universal” certification to allow the HVAC technician to work on any type of equipment containing refrigerant. Your HVAC technician should be certified as “Level II Certified” at a minimum or, preferably, “Universal Certification” to work on your central air conditioner. Obtaining this certification information from your professional HVAC technician may be required in the event you are working with a realtor to sell your home. Costs for certification average $40-$240.
You can usually slip the belt on the motor’s (smaller) pulley first and then start it on the blower pulley. Rotate the blower pulley by hand, holding the belt in place but keeping your fingers from getting caught between the belt and the pulley. The belt should slip right into place. If it seems to be too tight or difficult to set in place, it may be necessary to adjust the motor mount to provide more slack.
Some warning signs to watch for include a sudden increase in the amount of energy your furnace is using to get the same heating job done, strange noises coming from your furnace, and uneven or insufficient heating of your home. Especially if these symptoms are mild, it’s tempting to ignore them. But these types of problems will never go away on their own, and they will almost inevitably get worse.
During a regular maintenance visit, our technicians will go through your whole system, making sure that no parts are showing undue signs of wear, cleaning out any sediment that’s accumulated over time and completing any necessary repairs. This service is a great way to catch minor problems before they have a chance to become bigger ones, and it will also boost the energy efficiency of your system.

5) Adjust your thermostat. If you are away for large stretches of time every day, adjust your thermostat to a higher temperature for the time you are away. This will lessen the amount of time your unit has to work each day, and will lengthen its life cycle. An additional benefit will be a lower utility bill each month. Some newer thermostats allow you to pre-program your thermostat to match your schedule so that your home will still be cool when you arrive. Optimizing your system’s usage will maximize its life in the long term.
No matter what type of furnace you have, you’ll almost certainly need repair and maintenance services at some point. Just like any piece of machinery, furnaces can’t run error–free forever. But you don’t have to live in fear of the day your furnace breaks down either. With our heating technicians on the job, your furnace will usually be back online in no time.
The time it takes to install an AC unit and the associated cost depends on the square footage of your home. Many homeowners spend between $3,677 to $7,151 for a contractor to put in a new central air system.A family with a 2,000-square-foot house that already has a forced-air heating unit can expect to pay $3,500 to $4,000 for a cooling system. If technicians don't need to make any changes to the duct-work, then the project should take them an average of two to three days.

If your air conditioner is old, consider buying an energy-efficient model. Look for the ENERGY STAR® and EnergyGuide labels — qualified central units are about 15% more efficient than standard models. New residential central air conditioner standards went into effect on January 1, 2015; see the efficiency standards for central air conditioners for details, and consider purchasing a system with a higher SEER than the minimum for greater savings.
2Be sure the furnace’s circuit breaker is on or that its fuse has not blown. Check both the main electrical panel and any secondary subpanels that supply power to the unit. If the circuit has blown or tripped, reset the circuit breaker by flipping it all the way off and then on again. Or replace the fuse. If the circuit blows again, there is probably a short in the electrical system providing power to the furnace. For this, you may need to call an electrical contractor.
